Adoption and Identity

How does adoption affect identity?

In a world that is often unfeeling and unforgiving, it is important to know both who and why we are.

The family serves to shape our identity, but even more importantly, it is a part of our identity.

Individuals who experience a sponsoring are able to more confidently make choices, because they have been given freedom to do so through their acquired identity.

Sponsors gain new identity as well, discovering deeper purpose and fulfillment.

Where does the change begin?

When a lone child gains carefully selected parents, he or she takes on a new name. A good name can go a long way toward helping to fulfill a person's dreams. Names reflect how people will be called, and ultimately affects the way they will received when communicating with others.

The inheritance of belonging is also given at a sponsorship. Sponsor families quickly discover that their's is a shared belonging.

Many sponsors have learned that love should not be taken for granted. When a sponsored child realizes that he or she is the one loved by the sponsor, that same love becomes solidified as a part in the child's identity.

At Hanso Adoptions, we want to help you to find your identity. Let us show you your new family. You will not find greater happiness.
